Do I have to pay to join the program?

The program is free of charge. You have to pay your own transport fee from and to the venue in central Accra.

How did the program come about?

Many youth, like you, are looking for a stable job and Ghana's growing food industry is looking for the best new talents. However, many young professionals lack some of the skills companies require as well as the right connections to find long term employment. We bridge this gap by providing skills training and traineeships with relevant companies.

What makes this program unique?

We use a program model that allows you to develop your skills during a training period but also during a longer traineeship period. We call it a traineeship because the training sessions continue throughout this period. We believe that learning never stops!

Who is behind the program?

The Youth in Food  program was initiated by Ghana Food Movement (GFM) in partnership with Green Africa Youth Organisation (GAYO) and sponsored by the Dutch Embassy. The first cohort of the program started in January 2022. Since then, the program has been a great success and a third of the participants got employed after their traineeship. Ghana Netherlands Business and Culture Council (GNBCC) has now joined as a partner to support the development of the upcoming program.
